Roger Allen Nutt, 47, a life long resident of Spartanburg County, currently serves as the Representative for County Council District 6 and is the owner and manager of TNC Engineering, LLC, providing engineering and consulting services, and is a co-owner of Advanced Printing and Graphics - a full service printing company. Roger also serves on the board for the Fuller Center for Housing in Spartanburg, providing home repairs for those in need.

Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, Roger's family moved to Spartanburg where he started school at West View Elementary in District 6. His family later moved into School District 5 where he completed his primary education and graduated from James F. Byrnes High School in 1984. Roger then attended Tennessee Tech University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. After graduation, he went to work for Milliken & Company as an Engineering Manager. After some years in Equipment Engineering with Milliken and MEMC, Inc (Woodruff), Roger joined his family’s business in 1993 where he began what is now known as TNC Engineering, LLC, providing Civil Engineering design within the Upstate and surrounding area. 

Roger lives in Moore with his wife, Tracy. He has been a member of the same church congregation for over 40 years, where he has served as Worship leader, Family Ministry Deacon, Life Group and Bible Class teacher. Tracy serves as the Spartanburg Director of the National League of Junior Cotillions and is also heavily involved in Christian service. Roger and Tracy have 3 adult children - Collin, Kaitlin and Luke.

Roger is a supporter of the NRA and a strong believer and supporter of the U.S. Constitution. His strong belief that government should be limited, yet efficient and effective in its sevice to the people, along with his support of free market principles and private property rights, help to guide him in his representation.  Roger has a strong belief that government works best when the citizens become informed and involved - therefore government must be open (honest) and transparent.


Roger is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of South Carolina. He served for 15 years on the Spartanburg County Building Code Board of appeals – 10 years as Chairman. Roger has recently served on the regulatory committee for the Spartanburg HBA and has worked as a member of the Regulatory and Legislative Policy Committee for Western Carolina Regional Sewer Authority’s 20-Year Strategic Plan.  Roger served as a member of the SJWD Water Commission for (3) years.
